FDCU Welcomes 2 Exchange Students from Tohoku University for Clinical Visit
From September 8 to 19, 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, welcomed one 2nd-year and one 4th-year undergraduate exchange student from the Graduate School of Dentistry, Tohoku University, Japan. The students joined the exchange program to observe and learn about the Faculty’s teaching and clinical practices, while also broadening their knowledge in dentistry.
On the first day of the program, the International Affairs Division guided the exchange students on a tour of various facilities within the Faculty of Dentistry, helping them to get acquainted with the Faculty and become familiar with amenities that would support their daily lives during the exchange.
During the program, the exchange students observed and studied activities in several clinics and departments, including:
- Prosthodontic Laboratory; Complete Denture and Crown & Bridge Laboratory
- Graduate Periodontics Clinic
- Pediatric Dentistry Clinic
- Operating Room
- Oral Surgery Clinic
- Oral Diagnostic Clinic
- Graduate Oral Medicine Clinic
- Digital Dentistry Center
- Operative Dentistry Laboratory
- Operative Dentistry Clinic
- Occlusion Clinic
- Prosthodontics Clinic
- Endodontics Clinic
Additionally, the exchange students joined the King’s Mobile Dental Unit at Baan Pak Kret, Pak Kret District, Nonthaburi Province, where they observed postgraduate students providing treatment to patients.
In the final day of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rangsima Sakoolnamarka, Associate Dean for International Affairs, Corporate Communication, and Social Activities, met the exchange students and presented them with certificates of participation as recognition of their involvement in the program.
This was the second exchange program in the 2025 academic year in which Tohoku University sent students to the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University. Earlier, from March 10 to 14, 2025, seven exchange students had already visited under the same collaboration. These activities reflect the strong and ongoing relationship between the two institutions under the framework of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
