Enhancing Global Collaboration: Dent Chula Participates in International Scientific Meeting in Dentistry and MOU signing with Hasanuddin University in Indonesia

On February 20–22, 2025, delegates from the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, participated in The 13th International Scientific Meeting in Dentistry (TIIKG), organized by the Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University, in Makassar, Indonesia. This engagement aimed to foster stronger academic and research collaborations between Chulalongkorn University and Hasanuddin University.

During the conference, Prof. Pornchai Jansisyanont, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Assoc. Prof. Irfan Sugianto, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University, on February 21, 2025. The ceremony was witnessed by Prof. Thantrira Porntaveetus, Associate Dean for Research and Innovation Affairs. This agreement seeks to enhance cooperation in academic and research initiatives, as well as student and faculty exchange programs, advancing knowledge in the field of dentistry.

Additionally, faculty members from Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Dentistry were honored as guest speakers at the event:

1. Prof. Thantrira Porntaveetus, Associate Dean for Research and Innovation Affairs, delivered a keynote lecture on “Transforming Oral Health: Uniting Genetics, Molecular Science, and Precision Dentistry” on February 21, 2025.

2. Dr. Itt Assoratgoon delivered a keynote lecture on “Implant Longevity: Understanding Bone Remodeling and Biomechanical Forces” in the morning session on February 22, 2025. In the afternoon, he provided the lecture for residents in the Prosthodontics & Periodontics Specialist Program at Hasanuddin University.

Dean and Associate Dean for Research and Innovation also visited the Faculty of Dentistry at Hasanuddin University to discuss potential collaborations. Additionally, they toured Hasanuddin University Hospital.
