This training program emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical clinical training in the field of Endodontics. Graduates can sit for the written examination starting from the end of the second year of training and can take the oral examination upon completion of the training.
Course Background
The training program for resident dentists specialized in Endodontics is initiated by the Department of Operative Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University. Established in 2005, the program inaugurated its first cohort in the same academic year and has been admitting trainees annually since then.
This curriculum undergoes continuous development and refinement, with monthly curriculum management committee meetings and institutional quality assessments every five years by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, the latest of which occurred on December 24, 2018.

The aim of this curriculum is to cultivate specialized dentists in the field of Endodontics with the following competencies:
The curriculum’s ultimate objective is to equip trainees with the knowledge and expertise to successfully pass the specialized degree examination in the field of Endodontics and continue their journey as proficient dental experts. Most of the trainees from this program are recognized by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons in the specialty of Endodontics.

We collaborate with prominent institutions, including Ramathibodi Hospital and Phramongkutklao Hospital, to provide trainees with clinical practice opportunities in hospitals with diverse patient cases from various systems.
Message from the Director
The Residency Training Program in Endodontics, Department of Operative Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, is a curriculum that aims to provide learners with a correct understanding of the science of Endodontics, with emphasis on its origins and the ability to analyze critically, in order to apply knowledge correctly in root canal treatment and to be certified as experts in the field of Endodontics. Trainees will receive comprehensive education including lectures, seminars, and practical training throughout the 3-year study period. Additionally, they will be able to conduct interesting and high-quality research, with many of our graduate students having their work published in internationally recognized dental journals. Furthermore, our institution is fully equipped and provides diverse cases for students to practice. Our teaching faculty is of high quality and provides opportunities for students to express their opinions freely.

Course Details
Course structure
- Academic section: consists of lectures, academic conferences, seminars, journals, and clubs, as follows:
- Basic Sciences or fundamental medical sciences related to endodontics, accounting for 30%.
- Specialized courses in Endodontics and related subjects, accounting for 70%.
- Practical section: involves practical training in the field of Endodontics for a duration of three years.
- Research Output: A minimum of one research paper is required, which must be published or accepted for publication in a nationally or internationally recognized journal, according to the quality criteria of the The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Thailand, on the topic of the research work of Dental Resident, 2018.
- Elective courses: 1 credit unit.

Admission
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants:
Each academic year, a minimum of 50% of the available slots will be reserved for applicants affiliated with the government sector. Affiliated applicants must submit documentation of approved study leave for this program from their respective affiliations. Applicants must have obtained a professional dental license from the Thai Dental Council for at least 1 year and meet the English language proficiency requirements.
