Academic staff: Department of Anatomy

Prof. Dr. Thanaphum Osathanon is a professor and researcher in the field of stem cell biology and dental regenerative medicine. He specializes in stem cells, tissue regeneration, and mechanobiological responses in dental tissues. His research plays a significant role in advancing the fundamental understanding of dental tissue biology, promoting the regeneration of dental tissues, dentin-pulp complex restoration, as well as tissue engineering of bone and periodontal ligament. His work also supports the clinical application in maintaining tooth vitality, treating periodontal diseases, and facilitating root regeneration. Prof. Dr. Osathanon’s notable research includes studies on the roles of dental-derived stem cells and periodontal ligament stem cells in tissue repair and regeneration, the development of models to investigate gene expression induced by biomechanical forces, and the application of biomaterials and scaffolds to enhance tissue regeneration. His current academic interests include regenerative dentistry, mechanobiology, and personalized medicine, with a focus on applying regenerative and tissue engineering approaches for oral disease treatment.
