Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University Welcomes Macquarie University Delegation to Discuss Research and Graduate Education Collaboration

On 24 September 2026, Prof. Dr. Thantrira Porntaveetus, Associate Dean for Research and Innovation, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, together with Prof. Nattachai Srisawat, M.D., Ph.D., Assistant to the President for Research, and Assoc. Prof. Thiti Bovornratanaraks, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Interdisciplinary and Integrative Studies, Chulalongkorn University, welcomed a delegation from Macquarie University, comprising Prof. Simon Handley, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Graduate Research); Prof. Amin Beheshti, Interim Head of School of Computing, Faculty of Science and Engineering; and Ms. Katie Gamble, Director, Strategy & Planning, Graduate Research Academy. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views and discuss opportunities to strengthen collaboration in research and graduate education.

The discussion focused on potential research collaboration between Chulalongkorn University and Macquarie University, including research agreements and the development of research seed funding initiatives. The two universities also discussed opportunities to strengthen the capacity of researchers and graduate students, with the aim of fostering long-term academic collaboration and enhancing research capacity.

The meeting marked an important opportunity for Chulalongkorn University and Macquarie University to exchange perspectives and explore approaches to supporting research collaboration. It also laid a strong foundation for further developing academic partnerships and advancing international research collaboration in the future.
