Program Overview
Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University aims to produce knowledgeable and skilled dentists in the field of pediatric dentistry, which is a specialized branch that requires complex treatment procedures and relies on psychological aspects to motivate and encourage both child patients and their parents. The department focuses on fostering positive attitudes towards dental treatment and promoting oral health. The Master of Science program in Pediatric Dentistry was first established in 1996 and has continuously produced graduates who meet the professional and societal demands. The current Master of Science program in Pediatric Dentistry emphasizes clinical expertise in conjunction with preventive and promotive oral health care for patients of all ages, from infancy to adolescence, including children with special needs.
Furthermore, the program also excels in producing high-quality research that can be disseminated at an international level and applied to benefit patient care. This curriculum is suitable for dentists seeking to enhance their clinical skills or those working in the academic field, such as university professors or researchers.

Emphasis on the development of highly specialized knowledge and expertise in pediatric dentistry: Teaching is conducted by regular faculty members, visiting professors, and experts in various fields, including specialists in child psychology and behavior, linguists, and experienced dentists involved in community-based preventive dentistry, such as heads of dental departments and dentists in the Ministry of Public Health.
Potential to produce research work at an international level: The faculty and university provide support in terms of research funding, internationally standardized research facilities, and consultation units for manuscript preparation.
Graduates will gain diverse work experiences through off-site practical training at affiliated hospitals, such as Ramathibodi Hospital and Chulalongkorn Hospital. This includes training in the care of special needs patients and patients with systemic diseases, as well as promoting maternal and child health at the Pediatric Clinic and providing specialized care for children with special needs, in collaboration with Chulalongkorn Hospital.

Admission
Qualifications for Eligible Applicants:
- Hold a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from a public university or other universities recognized by the Dental Council, with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) not lower than 2.50.
- Hold a professional license as a dentist, in accordance with the Dental Professions Act of 1994.
- Have a minimum of one year of practical experience in the field of dentistry (up until the last day of application submission).
- Eligibility for admission is subject to the approval of the curriculum’s governing committee.
