รองศาสตราจารย์ ทันตแพทย์ ดร.เอกรัฐ ภัทรธราธิป เป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญสาขาพยาธิวิทยาช่องปาก ปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งหัวหน้าภาควิชาทันตพยาธิวิทยา คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย รองศาสตราจารย์ ทันตแพทย์ ดร.เอกรัฐ ภัทรธราธิปสำเร็จการศึกษาทันตแพทยศาสตรบัณฑิต จากจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยในปี พ.ศ. 2546 ต่อมาได้รับวุฒิบัตรสาขาพยาธิวิทยาช่องปากและแม็กซิลโลเฟเชียล จาก the University of Iowa และ American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology ในปี พ.ศ. 2552 และสำเร็จการศึกษาระดับปริญญาเอก (PhD) สาขา Oral Science จาก the University of Iowa ในปี พ.ศ. 2553 งานวิจัยของรองศาสตราจารย์ ทันตแพทย์ ดร.เอกรัฐ ภัทรธราธิปมุ่งเน้นการศึกษากลไกการเกิดโรคในช่องปากหลายประเภท ได้แก่ ภาวะภูมิคุ้มกันผิดปกติในช่องปาก เนื้องอกที่มีต้นกำเนิดจากฟัน ภาวะเสี่ยงต่อการกลายเป็นมะเร็งในช่องปาก และมะเร็งช่องปาก โดยมีเป้าหมายเพื่อทำความเข้าใจกลไกพื้นฐานของโรคเหล่านี้ ซึ่งจะช่วยส่งเสริมการวินิจฉัยและแนวทางการรักษาให้มีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้น
