งานวิจัยของเรามุ่งศึกษาโรคในช่องปากที่พบได้บ่อย เช่น รอยโรคสีแดงและขาว โรคตุ่มน้ำพองจากภูมิคุ้มกันทำลายตนเอง ภาวะปากแห้งจากน้ำลายน้อย และโรค Graft-Versus-Host Disease (GVHD)  โดยครอบคลุมตั้งแต่การวินิจฉัยโรคไปจนถึงการพัฒนาวิธีการรักษาและการดูแลผู้ป่วยอย่างครบวงจร นอกจากนี้ งานวิจัยยังเน้นการประยุกต์ใช้ความรู้ที่ได้เพื่อปรับปรุงการดูแลผู้ป่วย ลดอาการแทรกซ้อนที่ไม่พึงประสงค์ และค้นหาวิธีการรักษาที่เหมาะสมเพื่อให้การรักษามีประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด อีกทั้งยังศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสุขภาพช่องปากกับผู้ป่วยไตวายเรื้อรังที่ได้รับการล้างไตทางช่องท้อง เพื่อทำความเข้าใจผลกระทบและพัฒนาแนวทางการดูแลที่เหมาะสมยิ่งขึ้น

งานวิจัยของเรายังพัฒนาเครื่องมือประเมินความรุนแรงของโรคไลเคนแพลนัสในช่องปากอย่างเป็นระบบ และมุ่งสร้างมาตรฐานใหม่ในการเก็บข้อมูลความรุนแรงของรอยโรคในผู้ป่วย โดยได้แปลและทดสอบเครื่องมือวัดผลลัพธ์ที่ผู้ป่วยในฉบับภาษาไทย เพื่อใช้ในการรักษาและวิจัยในผู้ป่วยไทยที่มีปัญหาเนื้อเยื่ออ่อนในช่องปากและภาวะปากแห้ง ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามโรคเรื้อรังของเยื่อเมือกในช่องปาก-15 เกณฑ์วัดความรุนแรงอาการของโรคไลเคนแพลนัสในช่องปาก และแบบประเมินอาการปากแห้งฉบับย่อ นอกจากนี้ เรายังพัฒนายาและผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการรักษารอยโรคในช่องปาก เช่น ยาคอร์ติโคสเตียรอยด์เฉพาะที่ในช่องปาก (fluocinolone acetonide, dexamethasone, clobetasol) ในรูปแบบออราเบสและน้ำยาบ้วนปาก รวมถึงผลิตภัณฑ์เพิ่มความชุ่มชื้นในช่องปากทรีฮาโลส (trehalose) พร้อมทั้งยารักษาแผลในช่องปากจากสมุนไพร เช่น ว่านหางจระเข้และสารสกัดจากต้นกัญชา เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการรักษาผู้ป่วย เรายังได้พัฒนาอนุภาคไฮดรอกซีอะพาไทด์ระดับนาโนสำหรับการนำส่งไมโครอาร์เอนเอ เพื่อกระตุ้นการหายของรอยวิการบนกระดูก และศึกษาความเกี่ยวเนื่องของไมโครอาร์เอนเอต่อภาวะกระดูกตายจากการใช้ยา (medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw; MRONJ) โดยมีเป้าหมายที่จะนำอนุภาคนาโนนี้มาใช้ในการรักษาผู้ป่วยที่มีภาวะ MRONJ ในอนาคต
